Hmmm....I am actually suppose to be working on Halloween costumes...but I am so distracted....it is crazy. Well recently I DIY-ed a wipeable rug....let me say, "I LOVE IT"....I feel like it pulls the room together. I have not really accessorized my rental yet, but it is coming along. Yes, I am one of those people who believe that your house (whether you own or rent) is a reflection of who you are. Hate to say it...but that is what I believe. Anyways, the wipeable rugs are totally kid friendly, can be original in design, easy to create, and inexpensive. I actually plan on doing another one in my kitchen in the near future (I already have a design pattern in mind)...maybe in january????? I don't want to get carried away with wipeable rugs because I like texture...but I love the fact that I can paint it however I want. I thought about adding one in my front entry way, but right now I am undecided...I hate it when rugs are dirty so my front rug would definitely have to be some type of utility rug since I would not be able to run it in the wash...easy does it. I know I am rambling...but here you go...

Rug created out of vinyl and painted so that it is wipeable.

Here is my rug in my dining room...it measures 9x7 and reminds me totally of beetle juice....right?
Note: the grain work in photo is from editing...I am such a horrible photographer...and editor. Ha!

I totally forgot to mention the fact that this was made out of vinyl. Basically, I used the back side of vinyl....off the role vinyl at Lowes for a steal of $30 originally $80. Would love to say that this was an original idea...but is was NOT. There are plenty of DIY tutorials on this in blog world.

Break down:
Clean it
Prime it
Tape it
Paint it
Seal it
