One Wickedly Crazy Halloween

Oh, the sweet smell of Halloween! I love it....the weather, the leaves changing color, people dressed up and decked out....ahhhhhhhhh it is my absolute favorite. It is weird, every October I convince myself that I will be baking a storm and sewing until my arms fall out...and this year I actually did.

I will not lie, I did not sew baby girl's costume this year. After looking at a few tutorials and patterns, I deemed it too difficult to sew. As Halloween approached, I started to feel this gut wrenching feeling of guilt that I did not contribute to her costume making, like I did her brother and sisters. As I type this that guilt still consumes me. I should not be to hard on myself because she is happy and I told her I will sew her a Sofia dress for her birthday.

Since I bribed the princess to let me throw her a "whatever mom wants" birthday party, I would let her choose her Halloween costume (yeah, we do a family theme)...and...we were all Disney inspired characters. The Princess was Elsa from Frozen, Baby girl was Sofia from Sofia the First (we borrowed a costume from a friend), I was the evil step-queen (regina-esque inspired...from Once Upon a Time), and Boo was Prince Charming. I will add...they were the cutest most darling princess' and prince I know and they totally know how to rock a costume.

let me note we attended two weekends worth of activities and baby girl is missing from some photos because she was sick....I know, shame on me for taking the other two out. No worries she was a champ and understood the situation and even apologized to her sister for being sick and not being able to go....and she did this without crying, not that she needed to. The Princess even made her sister a "get well" card, which I thought was super sweet. She was able to go trick-or-treating on Halloween which was good.

Overall we had a blast! I decided from here on out semi to full force homemade costumes is what we will be doing on Halloween. On a side note, I am loving how great Prince Charming's costume came out. Sorry, I do not have a tutorial prepared for the costumes...I created them all on a whim, but I should be providing a very small informal tutorial on the evil stepmother costume (Once Upon a Time inspired)....so be on the lookout.

From my fam to yours, Happy Halloween!
