Happy Wednesday! The weather has been great and I have been in the mood to start my container garden. Today, I will be sharing 3 Steps to the Perfect Container Garden. Starting a garden should not be hard at all. In fact it was easier than I imagined.

When I was a child, I use to wake up in the early morning to help my mother tend her garden. My job was to water the plants and pull the weeds. My mother is definitely a professional landscaper in her own right. Her yard 'til this day is always on point; now that I live in a house with my own family, I want that nice manicured lawn with a beautiful garden that I can be proud to call my own. Unfortunately, I live in a rental and I cannot permanently place plants of any kind along the premise of my house. With that said, I decided to make my rental come alive by adding colorful garden pots. I recently discovered that Big Lots has a variety of garden pots, large and small and in a handful of colors that will suite my needs and my style. They also have cute little container holders and tables that would look perfect on any outdoor patio. They even carry high-quality lawn and garden furniture and decor. For someone on a budget, I found their items to be fairly priced and in fact at the time that I purchased my containers and garden stand a spring sale was going on. All of the outdoor furniture and decor are easy to find and centrally located. This may vary in some stores along with product availability, but nonetheless, they had everything I needed to spruce up my front patio.

I started a container garden using some garden pots that I purchased from Big Lots. I chose a large green pot that I planted an Azalea bush in and a medium size mint colored pot that I planted Begonia's and Creeping Jenny's in. The materials and steps that I took to accomplish a container garden, was extremely easy and it only took me approximately 10 minutes to do so.

Materials

Garden Pot (Container)
Potting Soil
Plants
Hand Trowel

Steps

1. Gather supplies
2. Using a hand trowel fill container with potting soil until filled to desire level
3. Place plants in pot and use potting soil to fill in the gaps in between plants

*If your container does NOT have a hole(s) on the bottom you will need to drill a hole in the container to help with drainage.

See, there really was not much to it, right? Once you have completed potting all of your flowers, cluster your pots together to create a balanced look. Another thing you may want to consider is  purchasing flowers that will complement the color and style of the containers. By doing so you can add visual interest to patio and facade of your house.

How do you get your outdoors ready for Spring and Summer?

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day. Until next time...
