Happy Tuesday! Spring is almost here guys. Here in NC it is GORGEOUS and quite warm....I am LOVING IT! Anyways, remember that time I participated in the One Room Challenge hosted by Linda from Calling it Home? Well folks...I will be a linking participant again! This challenge is HUGE for home decor bloggers and will start up again NEXT month...yikes! Thinking about it...it was literally just January not too long ago and now it is almost Summer...WOW, how time is flying by.

Today, I am bringing you a tutorial from my last One Room Challenge. I really do not know what to call this tutorial, because it was totally inspired by Malachite but in black. Prior to my blogging days, I DIYed some Malachite decorative boxes using a cardboard and paint.....Just like Jessica from The Aestate

I purchased a white mirror like this ONE from Target. Taped up the edges of the actual mirror so paint did not get on it, ripped off a piece of cardboard, busted out my black sample paint, and a paint brush and went to work. This project literally took 5 minutes to complete.

The steps are really simple...

1. I painted the mirror black
2. Then I took my torn cardboard and gently pushing down on the torn side, I dragged it along the paint and created some abstract patterns. You can even shake your hand a little while dragging the cardboard to give it more of a wobbly organic look.
3. Once I was satisfied with my pattern, I let it dry.

There you have it!...A beautiful, unique, malachite inspired mirror created with black paint. I love this image and how the whole room came together. Stay tune to see how I use this mirror in my new rental and as we are approaching April, I will share my plans with you on what room I plan to makeover for the One Room Challenge.
