Happy Tuesday! Today, I have teamed with Stephanie from Casa Watkins, Deb from Seeking Lavender Lane, Ruthie from Refashionably Late, and Jen from Fresh Crush for another "Behind the blogger" themed post. Today we will be talking about our main squeeze in an "open" post format...no questions to answer, just sharing our thoughts about our significant other and maybe even some background information on how we met and why they make our heart beat.

Man behind the Blogger: Join us while we share with you our significant other

It is no secret that I met and dated my husband in high school. I knew I loved him from the moment we started to get to know each other; he was funny, intelligent, good looking, ambitious, and excited about life. He was everything none of my other boyfriends were. I knew he was different. I don't want anyone to think that the feelings were mutual...prior to us dating, he did not even know I existed...I did not chase him, mutual friends had a role in us dating. I did have a uber crush on him and possibly told some people...maybe even stopped by his job a few time. Yeah, I really liked him!

After high school, I went off to college a few hours away from home. We continued to date and then he went on his mission. I waited for him. Our relationship has ALWAYS been at a good place and we both have always been understanding of each other's needs. While on his mission, I wrote him weekly to let him know I still cared. He was my first love and I knew with all my heart that someday I would marry him. I LOVED him and I LOVE him even more today. Our marriage isn't roses, we do have our problems, but it is nothing that will dismiss our love and loyalty to each other. We know what makes each other tick and we know how to have fun. He knows how to make me laugh even when I am not in the greatest of moods. He knows me like no other and he understands me and why I am who I am.

He is not only my husband, he is my children's father, my superman, my knight and shining armor, my LOVE. I know he loves me with all his heart and I can only hope I "know him know him" as much as he knows me. He is a GREAT father!! I could have not asked for a better man to father my children. He is patient, kind, and loving with our kids...I can only smile when he is in their presence because you can just feel his love for them! I am so blessed to have someone so anxiously engaged in my children and dedicated to them. One of his favorite things to do is to take my daughters out on daddy-daughter dates. That alone warms my heart. He is not perfect, neither am I, but I would not have it any other way....we both do our best to be our best and I am happy to have him walk this journey of parenthood with me.

Besides being all of the above, he is most certainly my MAIN supporter when it comes to me blogging and my passion for design. He reads my blog daily, likes all of my social media pictures and comments, and offers support in a way that no one else has.  He may not chip in on helping me with my projects, but he does run my craigslist errands and picks up any big purchases that I have made at the thrift store or home improvement stores. He is NOT the most handy person so asking him to do something would take excessive watching over the shoulder (which I cannot do, I am so impatient) but besides that he has a very demanding job; so even if I wanted to ask him to help, his time doing so would be very limited. One way he includes himself in my projects is by chiming in on what he thinks goes and does not go when it comes to decorating the house. Let's just say his voice is very loud when it comes to helping me make decorating decisions...I would be lying if I did not say, " I tune him out every once in a while." Haha! I love him, I love that he supports me in all I do and that he has an opinion about it...and that is all that matters.

One thing I can sum up about the Man Beside the Blogger is that although wiser and older he is STILL the funny, intelligent, good looking, ambitious, and the excited about life young man that I fell in love with 13 years ago. To the moon and back, forever and ever...I love him!

On a side note...dang, we aged a little! Ha! I love this man and I am so happy that I was able to share with you a BIG piece of my heart. Thank you for stopping by and...

Do not forget to stop by and read my co-host post on their main squeeze!

  2. You are such a lovely couple! It sounds like you've found everything any woman could ask for in a life partner! The way you described him sounds a lot like my hubby too. He's not perfect but he will do ANYTHING for me and our children. Best of all, a man who supports his woman's hobbies and passions...that's a keeper ;-)
