Fabric Love: Floral Prints 2015
August 12, 2015
Happy Wednesday!
For those who have been keeping up with my blog, "Operation Mom" was a success. My parents and little brother had a great time, we laughed, hung out, went shopping, ate A LOT of food, and most of all my children enjoyed every minute they were here.
....Now, back to our regular scheduled program....
Confession...Aside from being a furniture hoarder, I am also a fabric hoarder (in person and on Pinterest). I just cannot seem to let it go, it is a wild obsession...that I cannot seem to explain to myself or the mister. My favorite types of fabric are floral prints. Some of y'all already knew that, huh? There is a floral trend going on...in the summer it was the bright vibrant, hot pink, cyan watercolor florals and with fall approaching it is more-so moody floral fabrics that are making a comeback. Both trends, I love, but at this current moment and this whole year I have been lusting over floral fabric with bold a print, vibrant colors...and twist of moodiness (darkness). I compiled a list of some of my favorite floral prints to share with all of you, enjoy...
I know that the style I give off is more of an Eclectic Edge, but when it comes to MOST fabric, I like a more traditional print. I love using floral fabric for curtains and pillows. They may be busy, but if you offset the fabric with some modern pieces or even run a thick black trim around the edge of the curtain it can modernize the print. It all depends on how you mix and match your decor.
What kind of fabric trends are y'all obsessing over?

ReplyDeleteflowers are so pretty, aren't they?
DeleteI LOVE #6. I would totally love a pair of shorts in that fabric!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that is a pretty fabric. It would make a nice dress as well.
DeleteYes! Florals are totally my obsession right now! I saw this really cool pin where someone had mounted antique floral plates of various sizes to a wall, and it looked amazing. I've been keeping my eye out for them at local flea markets and secondhand stores lately!
ReplyDeleteOOoooo, that sounds so pretty! I have been searching my local thrift stores for some vintage inexpensive plates (sometimes they mark them so high)....I love that idea.
DeleteI'm lovin' the floral prints too. I find them to be so bohemian, especially when they're busy and you incorporate some modern pieces in your décor. I just think that look is so chic! I'm loving print #2...so many beautiful hues of blue in that one. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so right! The key to making florals work and not making it look so granny like is to mix in some modern pieces. The blue is one of my favorites as well.
DeleteI love #5!! You do wonderful things with your decorating, hoarding fabric doesn't surprise me, LOL

ReplyDeleteThanks April, you are too sweet!
DeleteI ALWAYS love a floral print. They seem to go in and out of fashion, but I will always have some floral print in my home.

DeleteI have always loved floral. My bridesmaids had floral dresses! I used to have a blouse with a print very like that blue one at the top right.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so pretty. You rarely see bridesmaids in patterned dresses. I be your wedding was lovely. #2 is one of my favorites as well.
DeleteGirl, I hear you. I remember years ago, I told my mom that I hated floral and it was so outdated... and now I want to take every ounce of that back! I am currently loving geometric prints on fabric... but I'm honestly a sucker for fabric every time I'm at the craft store! ;)
ReplyDeletehaha!...didn't we all? It is all about how you mix and match patterns.
DeleteI love #3 and could see a wingback chair covered in it with a brightly colored pillow or throw.
ReplyDeleteOh yes....i love that fabric...although springy the colors remind me of fall.
DeleteI am absolutely in love with number six. So many colors, such a beautiful pattern! Bet it would look great on an upholstered chair.

DeleteI adore looking at fabric, and always try to come up with a reason I can use certain fabrics. I like #6 a lot. I have no where to put it in my home but I like the bright colors.
ReplyDelete#6 is beautiful! I love your house and all the bright colors, I think it would look great in the fall on your settee. Thanks for stopping by....

ReplyDeleteLove it Jess! I am really feeling those floral prints. #1 and #2 are my favs. It has a little chinoiserie edge to it. Right now, I am loving global prints such as Indian graphics as well as anything white and blue. :)
ReplyDeleteOooh...I love floral print. It's so elegant and feminine :) I probably would be a fabric hoarder too, if only I knew how to sew. My grandma taught me when I was a kiddo, but I lost all that knowledge over the years. Still, I like to check out the fabric aisle or fabric stores just for fun!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is 2nd one. I love blue and white together, it's so lovely.
ReplyDeleteThese are really pretty patterns. Never been a fan of busy fabrics myself, but I can see why you like these!
ReplyDeleteI love fabric as well and I used to have a great collection. I ended up giving it all away when I downsized. And I mess them. Although I never was going to use any of it :) just loved having the beautiful patterns.
ReplyDeleteYour not the only one who loves floral print! It is my favourite print and salute you on your magnificent choice.http://www.fadedspring.co.uk
