Thrift Score Thursday 72

Happy Thursday All!
Yep, I am at it again...I am guest hosting Thrift Score Thursday along side some of my absolute favorite bloggers. If this is your first time hearing about the #thriftscorethursday hashtag party, "Welcome!" The way this hashtag party works is basically all you have to do is share your thrifty finds (from garage sales, Craigslist, flea markets, thrift stores, etc...) throughout the week on Instagram and tag them #thriftscrorethursday. Then on Thursdays Brynne from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Corinna from For My Love Of, Trisha from Black and White Obsession, and a guest host will share their favorite thrift scores on their blog. Yep, #thriftscorethursday is the name of the game and that is how the game is played, no linking up necessary.
Oh my freak! When I saw Clear Cut Crystal Designs Thrift Score Thursday vignette, my jaw about dropped. This was such a cute, perfect area that had to be shared. I love the brass propeller and how it is not attached to anything. It is like a little gem that was once lost and now found. I think it perfect and would look awesome in a little kids room. In this vignette is also a cookbook from 1939 and sewing table with mid-century legs...How awesome is that? I don't know about y'all but this vignette has COOL stamped all over it.
Again...jaw dropping and drooling....Have I mentioned I love faux bamboo and the whole Chinoiserie style? I think I have...and I am absolutely LUSTING over this buffet table. It is so petite and cute and perfect and....everything. Can I say, I am officially jealous (in a good way)! Shavonda from SG Style definitely has style! She is an avid thrifter and has a thing for eclectic decor. She and her partner recently purchased this cute little home filled with vintage charm and I love how she finds pieces and incorporates it into her home so effortlessly. She plans on painting this piece...I cannot wait to see what she does with it. It would look great in any color, but for some reason I think it would look hot in a nice cranberry red paint finish up against that wall....POP!
I saw this post floating around on Facebook and Instagram and I had to post about it because I thought it was an ingenious idea! Stephanie from Casa Watkins purchased a bagel slicer from the thriftstore and turned it in to a cute sponge holder. She chose to add a simple, colorful design to give it an extra oomph...it is so on trend, I love it!
My find for the week is this vintage 1920's (according to my local persian rug man) persian rug. This rug measures approximately 9' x 7' and is full of color. It is the missing link to my dining room and is absolutely stunning... Isn't she a stunner? Here is the AH-mazing part...I purchased this rug from my local thrift store for $15. It originally was priced at $40, but I talked them into selling it to me for $15 due to a blemish on the rug. Honestly, I could care less about the blemish, because you cannot really even see it. I love all the different colors and the history behind it. It is imperfectly perfect and I am so HAPPY I am able to share it with you.
Don't forget to stop by and check out the finds and features from Brynne, Cassie, Corinna & Trisha. Love it...Love you and a BIG thanks to my blogging buddies, Brynne, Cassie, Corinna, and Trisha for allowing me to guest host this week!

You can join in anytime on instagram using #thriftscorethursday on any of your thirty finds---it does not need to come from the thrift store, it can be from a yard sale, curb alert, etc...

ReplyDeleteI love brass too...a lot of thrift shops are picking up on these trends and marking the price up but when you see a good one, you just got to buy it. Thanks Heather for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteGo for it girl!
DeleteQuite the stunner! I'm always bashful about talking down prices at the thrift store mostly because it's usually at Goodwill and ours are notorious for being high and non negotiable. So glad you were able to grab yours and to finish off the room!
ReplyDeleteThanks Trish! I have a few favorite spots where the employees recognize me and allow me to bargain with them. Sometimes it works, other times it does not...depending on item.
DeleteNo way! $15?! And from the 20's?! What a dreamy find, girl! I can't wait to see where you use it! Thank you for joining us as a guest host again - I love having you party with us! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Brynne for allowing me to guest host. I was shocked myself. I brought it to the Persian rug man (he has SOOOO MANY cool rugs, it is crazy) to get some background info on it. This was one find that I am totally liked about! It is laying in my dining room at the moment.

DeleteThat rug is awesome! I love finding unexpected things. A few months ago H and I found an 1920 Singer Sewing machine and original cabinet. The guy wanted 50 bucks, but the cord had been cut (easy fix for H) and we got it for $10. Brought it home, fixed the cord, it works AWESOME and is worth about $600. I love thrift stores!
