**Paint-a-Pillow did provide me with the stencil free of charge, but the opinions are all my own**
Hello and Happy Friday!
Recently, Cutting Edge Stencil reached out to me to do a review on there sister company, Paint-a-pillow, stenciled pillow kit. I was over the moon that they asked me to do this, I was planning on making pillows myself, so this was a plus. After reviewing the Paint-A-Pillow site, I settled on the Little Diamond Stripe stencil kit. Now, I know that this is a simple design, but since my living room is not fully designed to my liking I thought that this would be the best stencil for me since it can pretty much work in any design scheme that I have drawn out (in my head).
The items that came in my kit were a
· Stenciling frame (pat.pend.)
· Reusable pillow stencil
· 17”x17” Cotton pillow cover
· Pillow insert: linen/down alternative
· Mini roller and stencil brush
· Paint tray and stirring stick
· Illustrated instructions
· Free mini stencil and practice fabric swatch
· One free fabric paint of your choice
*I received an extra pillow insert and pillow cover per request
Tweet-tweet...testing out my paint color...ALL GOOD!
I chose not to use the paint roller, for obvious reasons. One thing I will note is that if you use the paint brush, make sure you do not put a huge clump of paint on the brush...you may just get one glob of a diamond, Trust me...I made the mistake, but since I caught myself...It did not turn out too bad.
Once the whole pillow is painted, just lift up the gold tabs at the corners and center edges of the board and lift the stencil up gently.
Once the paint drys, unzip the pillow case and take the board out. To set the paint, flip the case inside out and iron it. If you plan to wash your pillow or take it to the dry cleaners, consider this step because you do not want all your hard work to be wasted.
I love a good pattern and I am so happy with the stencil I chose. It fits into the scheme of me room so perfectly. Since I love the results of this DIY, I decided that I would host a giveaway. One lucky participant has the opportunity to WIN one Paint-A-Pillow stencil kit.
Thank you to Cutting Edge Stencil for providing me with this kit! I LOVE my new pillow!
