Happy Tuesday All!  Today's post will be a little different than the normal. I think I may even do this series monthly, it will serve as a monthly checklist and kind of like a "what to expect" for the month type of thing. I normally make a mental checklist of everything I need to do, but like most moms...my brain is fried and I forget. Yes, I do have an online calendar and a calendar I carry around on the daily...in fact, I have 3 calendars (2 online and one in my purse). My life is hectic, crazy, and stressful so I figure that I would make a checklist of my monthly goals so that I can be held accountable for it. I would hate to disappoint anyone...so if I let it be known, more than likely I will do it.

July Goals

1. Get my body back---not literally. Basically, I just need to be more consistent with my workouts. April-June (the end of June) has been taxing on my family, because my kids have been sick back to back to back...one of my children was even diagnosed with Stevens Johnson Syndrome during this period. With that said, I sacrificed working out on a daily so I can dedicate my time to my children and focus on them. Now that they seem to be better, I would love to finish off my workout program where I left off. My ideal workout situation would be to lift weights 3-5 days a week for an 1-1.5 hours and possibly squeeze 10 min of cardio a day into my workout. I dread cardio! Working out is essential to my well-being...trust me it is! It clears my mind of clutter, it eases me and relaxes my body, and it (for some reason) makes me feel more confident about myself. I noticed when I do not workout I am uptight, a grouch, moody, and lazy.

2. Operation Mom is Coming to Town---This probably should have been number one on my list, but I think I need to workout to ease my mind that my mom is coming. Ha! I love my mom. Anyways, since my madre will be in town, I will be decorating, decorating, DIYing, DIYing, DIYing....until everything is decent and mother approved. Ha.

          1. Living Room Makeover-This has been on my mind for the past month or so. I would like to repaint my shelves and maybe even paint my makeshift entertainment center. I need to finish my gallery wall and I would love to DIY some decorative wall plates. I do not know if it is in my budget to purchase a new coffee table (I will be on the look out), but I think I need one in my life despite what the mister thinks.

          2. Clean Out the Hoard Room- I basically need to sell some stuff. That is it! No point in getting down to the nitty gritty in this room, nobody really goes in here. I just need to be able to close the door, I cannot do that now because it is overflowing with furniture.

          3. Deep Clean-Lately, my rental has been a hot mess...we have not been neglecting it, things just need to get fixed. This month the landlord promised to fix the problems. It is hard to organize or do anything when you have no where to put stuff. It is literally annoying. Hopefully, these problems will get fixed ASAP so I have time to deep clean thoroughly.

3. Change Out the Lighting---The lighting in my rental is a NIGHTMARE. Yes, it is. I have been researching light bulbs and I have narrowed it down to what I think would work in my rental. Now all I need to do is purchase them and switch out the bulbs.

4. Create a Command Center---I have been putting this off for two years too long. I really need to have this up and running by the first week of August. Two of my babes are in school and this would help ease all the homework confusion and keep them on track.

These are my July goals, I think they are doable and I cannot wait to get started. Wahoo for projects and so far my kids are looking great so hopefully we still have a bit of summer fun that I can enjoy with them. Happy July, I will see y'all on Thursday. I will be guest hosting for Thrift Score Thursday.

  9. I love setting goals but it seems I overwhelm myself with very long to do lists when I do. Anyway I am also on a redo the living room mode this month and trying to knock all the projects off my to do list that have to do with that. Good luck on your goals. I'm cheering you on.

    1. Thanks! Ouch, I twisted my ankle in college and it has NEVER been the same! Literally, I can not wear certain heels because of it and after I twisted it, they put me in the wrong brace and it took forever to heal. I hope all is well with your ankle and thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  27. I love goal setting, I just haven't been able to get it on the blog recently. I also love that when mom or in-laws come we tend to quickly do everything on our to-do list! lol. I am the same way when my in-laws come - because my parents live so close they get to see how we 'really live'. Good luck and I can't wait to see how you accomplish everything.

P.S. Working out is ALWAYS on the goal list...and almost never accomplished for me too :)

I hope that by chunking it out and devoting a bit of time each day to the projects I will get it done before I go back to teaching in mid August. Not much time left at all!
    Good luck with your goals.

    1. I decided on White "NATURAL" lights from Lowes--they are more blue in color than yellow. However I have a throwback chandelier and had to settle on regular chandelier lights for that they did not sell them in white "natural" lights. The natural lights look more realistic and true to color that the yellow, especially if you take a photo with the lights on.

    1. Ha girl! I am doing well on most of my goals, I have yet to workout for the month...I cannot seem to motivate myself with the children in the house for the summer. If you count cleaning as working out then...I did, otherwise, my gym membership has gone to waste for this month. I am hoping to pick up going back to the gym next month and maybe workout at home this upcoming week while my girls go back to school. Thanks for checking up on me Christina!
