The more and more I think about Mother's Day...the more I realize it is not my favorite holiday. I have to admit...I have had some bad mother's day...Well, they were not bad, but more so forgotten or last minute...and if you know me, I do not do last minute plans very well. I am going to be very candid on this post....judge me in your head, but please no bad comments...everyone is different...this is just a list I put together because this is what I would LOVE.

While thinking of my past Mother's Day experiences, I decided to put together a list of things that would make mom's day great. I know some mom's would agree with me and others may not.

1. DO NOT FORGET! Coming from a mom who is constantly busy  and wears many different hats when a certain holiday or special event comes along and your family forgets to celebrate the person that that event is for...it is kind of hurtful. Even though it may have not been intentional.

2. If you are going to do it last minute plan it out the night before. If most mothers are like me, they don't like last minute planning...in fact they probably hate it. I can only speak for myself, but I am the type of person that says "NO" to last minute planning...but please, not on mother's day...come on!

3. Homemade is A-OK. One of the major things that I love about my family is that we love homemade gifts. The mister and I encourage the kids to be creative, which I love because you never know what they would come up with. What matters to most  moms is the matter of the heart..."Was your gift thoughtful?"...."Did you just buy it to buy it?"..."Does it make me smile/happy?" Basically, be thoughtful when buying or making a gift.

4. Gifts are okay but a day to myself would be even better. I cannot speak for other moms, but whoa...would I love a day to myself! I mean from morning to evening...do not even ask me to get any kids ready. I would sleep in, I would work on projects, I would catch up on TV shows, I would work out, I would indulge in chocolate without little voices asking me if they can have some....It would be AWESOME...and plus, I know when the kids are with the mister, they are having fun...my husband is pretty AMAZING when it comes to kids. I mean, what mom would not want time for themselves?

5. Do NOT leave a mess for me to clean up later. In fact, how about I relax and y'all clean. I mean, who knows...the house may not even be that messy that day. Maybe the kids will be angels that day and be less bouncy and just absolutely perfect. Who knows? Just saying, if you happen to make me any meals, please clean the WHOLE kitchen when you are finished....It would make us moms feel EXTRA appreciated!

That is a wrap! Happy Mother's Day!
