Have you ever wanted something sooooo sooooo bad that you just wanted to scream? I know I may sound like a BIG baby...but I am to that point. So here it goes,...I WANT TO OWN A HOUSE!!! There is so much that I want to do and lately, on top of all the diying, crafts, and other things But for some reason, I have been feeling stuck. I know I may sound selfish or ungrateful, I know I can do a lot with what I have at the moment. Point that I am trying to make is there is a lot that I cannot do...I cannot paint the walls, I cannot paint the cabinets, I cannot take the wallpaper down...basically I cannot put my own stamp on this place, obviously because it is a rental. Oh how I cannot wait til that day that I have a place of my own.

I don't just want any house...I want a house with charm, built before 1989, preferably in the 70's. It has to have 3 or more rooms, an unfinished kitchen (meaning, original cabinets and countertops), a detached garage, and larger than 1700 square feet. If you cannot tell, I am trying to be modest, my list is actually a bit longer and more detailed but I don't want to come off as "that girl".
Thinking about it, I can be "that girl", because I am "that girl"! What person doesn't have a huge list of what they want...in a home, life, partner, etc...? For when that time comes, here is my list:
Honestly, I just want a blank canvas...I don't want a total reno, simply because the mister is NOT handy...need I say more. I don't think I would care if there were wallpaper on the walls and green carpet. I just want something that will work with my design style....anything cosmetic can be changed I just want a house structurally sound with character that stays true to the era of the it was built. A girl can dream, right? Hopefully this dream becomes a reality.

  1. I know exactly what you mean. Before I got the chance to build my dream home, the idea just kept spiraling inside of my head like I was about to go crazy. My dream got the best of me after a while and I started on building my dream house. Anyway, that's a perfect list. I hope you meet the house of your dreams soon, so you can start renovating. Thanks for sharing that with us, Jess. I wish you all the best! :)

  2. Thank you Justin, while I am still waiting on my dream house, I find myself adding on to my list. Ha! I guess that is normal.

  3. Talking about dream houses is really exciting! But I guess it will help if you just collect pictures and make them your inspiration, while taking note of the details. That way, you can figure out which ones you want in your dream house, until you have a vision for a perfect design. Hope it helps!

  4. I agree with John. It really helps if you are also more attentive with the details. You’ll be building your dream house in the future. Therefore, it’ll be best if you could put your personal touch in it.

  5. Speaking from a male perspective, I think most women want a lovely home they can put their own stamp on. Without wanting to sound sexist or patronising it's part of the pleasure that starts in childhood from playing with dolls houses. Men are usually less bothered about having a wish list when it comes to houses, but we all love to dream.
